Who we are
AimScan is developed and published by Metaworkx, a company registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 62661833. In this policy "we" and "us" mean Metaworkx. For any privacy question, email support@aimscan.app.
This policy covers the AimScan app for iOS, iPadOS and Android, and the website aimscan.app.
The AimScan app
Data we collect
None. The app has no user accounts and does not send personal data, usage data, photos, scores, device identifiers or location to us or to any third party. The app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking software.
Data stored on your device
To work as a logbook, the app stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Folders, sessions, targets, shot positions and scores.
- Photos of targets you take or choose, stored in reduced size.
- Names and details you enter, such as firearms, ammunition batches, chronograph velocities, clubs, ranges, lane numbers and notes.
- App settings such as language, units and appearance.
This data never leaves the app's private storage on your device unless you choose to export or share it. Deleting the app deletes this data. You can also erase everything in Settings.
Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera access so you can photograph a target, and photo library access so you can pick an existing photo. Images are processed on the device to detect the target and the shots. They are not uploaded anywhere. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Device backups
Your app data is included in the normal backup of your device: iCloud Backup on iPhone and iPad, and Google backup on Android (on Android, target photos are excluded from the automatic cloud backup because of its size limit). These backups are made by Apple or Google under your own account and are governed by their privacy policies. We have no access to them. You can turn device backups off in your system settings.
Exports and sharing
You can create a backup file, a PDF report, a CSV file or an image. These files are created on your device and handed to the system share menu. You choose where they go, for example Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email or a messaging app. The service you choose handles the file under its own terms.
Purchases
AimScan is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We receive anonymous, aggregated sales reports from them, never your name, payment details or contact information.
App store privacy labels
In line with the above, AimScan is listed as "Data Not Collected" on the App Store and "No data collected" and "No data shared" in the Google Play Data safety section.
This website
aimscan.app is a static website. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising, and it loads no third-party fonts or scripts. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect them against abuse. This data is kept only briefly for security and is not used by us to identify you. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed, and at the latest two years after the last contact.
Children
AimScan is intended for sport shooters and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data, it collects no data from children either.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data, to object to processing and to data portability. Because we do not hold personal data from the app, there is usually nothing for us to provide or delete: your data is under your control on your device. For website or email related requests, contact support@aimscan.app. You may also file a complaint with your data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
Your data is protected by the security of your device, including its passcode, biometric lock and storage encryption. Keep your device and backups secure, because anyone who can unlock your device can open the app.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a future version of the app ever processed personal data, we would describe it here before releasing that version.
