Terms of Use

The rules for using AimScan, written to be read.

1. Who we are

AimScan is published by Metaworkx, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 62661833 ("we", "us"). Contact: support@aimscan.app.

2. Licence

When you buy AimScan in the App Store or Google Play you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices linked to your store account, under the rules of that store. For the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) applies in addition to these terms. If these terms conflict with the store's rules, the store's rules apply.

You may not copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.

3. Purchases and refunds

AimScan is a one-time purchase. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Ask for a refund through the store where you bought the app.

4. What AimScan is, and is not

AimScan is a training and logbook tool. Scores calculated from photos are estimates. Image quality, lighting, paper tears and the accuracy of target printing all affect the result.

  • AimScan is not an official scoring device. In competitions, the decision of the range officer, the official scoring gauge or the electronic scoring system always counts.
  • Ring sizes for some disciplines are estimated. The app tells you when this is the case.
  • Load development features only record and compare data you enter. AimScan does not give reloading advice and contains no load data. Always follow published load data from powder and bullet manufacturers, start low and stay within safe limits.

5. Safe and lawful use

You are responsible for handling firearms safely and for following the laws and range rules that apply to you. Never take photos of a target while a range is live.

6. Your data

Your data is stored only on your device. You are responsible for making backups. We cannot restore lost data because we never have a copy. See the privacy policy.

7. Updates

We may release updates to fix problems, improve features or meet store requirements. Some features may change over time.

8. Liability

We build AimScan with care, but provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost data or lost results, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

9. Law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
